This Cancellation Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions. It applies to all confirmed bookings with Majesty Tours and is designed to be fair to you while covering the costs we commit to suppliers on your behalf.

1. How to cancel

To cancel a booking, please notify us in writing by email at info@majestytourssrilanka.com or via WhatsApp. A cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your written notice. Refunds, where due, are calculated by reference to that date and the number of days before your scheduled arrival.

2. Cancellation by you — refund schedule

Unless different terms are stated on your booking confirmation, the following applies to the total tour cost:

The 25% deposit is non-refundable in all cases, as it covers advance commitments we make to hotels, national parks and transport partners as soon as your booking is confirmed.

3. Non-refundable elements

Some parts of a booking may carry stricter supplier terms and cannot be refunded once confirmed, regardless of when you cancel. These are treated separately from the schedule above and will be identified on your confirmation where they apply. They may include:

4. Amendments & postponement

If, instead of cancelling, you wish to change your travel dates or itinerary, we will always try to help. Where an amendment is possible we will re-quote based on the new arrangements and any supplier charges. A postponement requested close to your arrival date may be treated as a cancellation and re-booking under the schedule above.

5. Cancellation by us

We will only cancel your trip in exceptional circumstances. If we cancel for any reason other than force majeure or your failure to pay, you may choose between:

If we have to cancel because a balance was not paid by its due date, the cancellation charges in section 2 will apply as if you had cancelled on that date.

6. Force majeure & events beyond control

Where a trip cannot go ahead because of events beyond our reasonable control — such as natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics or pandemics, civil unrest, strikes, government action or airport and border closures — we will not be liable to pay compensation. In these situations we will work with our suppliers to recover and refund whatever amounts we reasonably can, and will pass any recovered sums on to you, less any unrecoverable third-party costs. We may instead offer a credit to travel at a later date. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to protect against such events.
